About GD HEALTH
Simple, honest health information for every Nigerian — conditions, foods and remedies explained in plain language.
Our Story
GD HEALTH is a member of the GODUMSITE family — a Nigerian network of ten focused blogs covering health, education, agriculture, food, nature, beauty, technology, finance, work and news. The family was founded by Barigodum Digboh, a Nigerian teacher and web publisher who believes quality information should not be locked behind big words, big fees or big cities.
GD HEALTH was created for one simple reason: health information in Nigeria is either too technical, too foreign, or too scattered. We bring it home — written simply, with Nigerian foods, Nigerian names and Nigerian realities in mind.
What We Cover
GD HEALTH is built on three pillars, each with its own A-to-Z library:
Illnesses, diseases, bacteria and viruses from A to Z — malaria, typhoid, sickle cell and hundreds more.
The nutrition inside the fruits, leaves and tubers of the Nigerian market, from ugu to watermelon.
The herbs, spices and traditional seasonings of the Nigerian kitchen, with honest safety notes.
How We Write
Every article is written in plain language, grounded in publicly available health research and checked against reliable health sources. Where Nigerian communities know a food or condition by a local name — ugwu, onugbu, agbalumo — we use the name you know first. And we are honest about limits: we are educators, not your doctor. Our pages tell you what a condition or food is, and encourage you to get professional care when it matters.
