Editorial Policy — GD HEALTH

This is how GD HEALTH writes: researched from reputable public health sources, written in plain Nigerian English, reviewed for accuracy, and corrected openly when we get something wrong.

1. Who We Write For

GD HEALTH is written for Nigerian families, market women, students, teachers — anyone who wants to understand their health without a medical dictionary. Every article answers one question: what does this mean for someone living in Nigeria?

2. How We Research

Our articles start from publicly available sources: the World Health Organization, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, teaching-hospital patient information, and established health references. We then translate that material into plain language, keeping the Nigerian names for foods, herbs and conditions — ugwu, agbo, opolo eye, typhoid — because health education only works when it sounds like home.

3. What We Promise (and Refuse)

We promise: plain language, honest uncertainty (where evidence is limited, we say so), respect for Nigerian traditional foods and remedies, and clear guidance on when to see a doctor.

We refuse: miracle-cure claims, fear-mongering, fake testimonials, and anything that tells you to replace your doctor with our articles. See our Health Disclaimer.

4. Independence

Advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in our articles. Editorial content and advertising are kept clearly separate — our Advertising Policy explains the standards any advertisement must meet. Sponsored content, if ever published, is labelled as sponsored.

5. Corrections and Updates

Health knowledge changes, and so do our pages. When a reader or a new study shows we got something wrong, we correct the article and thank the person who told us. Major corrections are noted on the page. Spotted an error? Email hello@gdsite.com.ng or WhatsApp 0913 784 2661 — corrections move to the front of our queue.

6. Reader Requests

Readers can request topics — a condition, a fruit, a spice — and requests shape our publishing queue. Request yours on our Contact page.
